Behind the 16,000-pound doors of this underground bunker lies a secret shelter for those who may be scared that the end of the world is imminent.
The structure is an abandoned missile silo in rural Kansas that has been remodeled into doomsday luxury condos 100-feet below the ground.
“I’ve never seen the world as crazy as it is right now,” one couple told Inside Edition. The couple bought one of the lavish, 920-square-foot units for $1.5 million.
The former missile silo has been converted into 12 units called Survival Condo, where Inside Edition says you could “ride out a nuclear catastrophe in lovely comfort.”
Larry Hall, the owner of Survival Condo, described the spacious interiors.
“We are in a typical full floor residential unit and even though we are more than 100 feet underground right now, you can see that it’s certainly not a claustrophobic area,” said Hall, gesturing to the nine-foot high ceilings.
The condos are outfitted with plenty of amenities to keep a family living in comfort, including several luxury items like a movie theater, pool with waterslide, and “windows” to the outside world, which are high definition TVs broadcasting the world above.
“You wouldn’t believe you are underground at all,” said the Seattle couple.
Hall says that since the 2016 election, he has seen an uptick in interest for the units and similar shelters.
