Definition of "lobata" [lobata]

  • A division, ordinal or subordinal, of the class or order Ctenophora, including those comb-bearing hydroids or ctenophorans which have a pair of oral lobes: distinguished from Tæniata and Saccata. The Lobata are composed of such forms as Eurhamphæa, Bolina, Mnemia, Calymma, and Ocyroë.
