Definition of "object-point" [object-point]

  • In an apparatus for the drawing of objects on a greatly enlarged scale from microscopic originals, that point in the pantographic system of links at which the microscopic objective is located over the slide or object being observed and reproduced. As the object-point is moved over the original, a tracing-point at the long end of the leverage traces the outline on a scale which gives the desired multiplication of size. (noun)
