  • A North American Indian name for low knolls, inconspicuous elliptical hills, or elongated ridges of glacial drift capped with loess. The name was introduced by W. J. McGee, Pleistocene History of Northeastern Iowa, in Rep. U. S. Geol. Surv., 1898–90, I. 220. (noun)
