  • A group of cultivated plants the different individuals of which are simply transplanted parts of the same seedling individual, the propagation being altogether by the use of vegetative parts, such as buds, grafts, cuttings, suckers, tubers, bulbs, etc. The various sorts of apples, potatoes, chrysanthemums, etc., known as varieties are, in a more restricted sense, clons.
